Snow crabs grow in fishing grounds where warm and cold currents mix and are characterized by their concentrated flavor, elegant taste, and sweetmeat.
Fishing is conducted from early November to March, and the fish is landed mainly at Tottori Port, Ajiro Port, Tago Port, and Sakai Port, each close to the fishing grounds, so the fish is fresh.
